A program that I really like as a text editor is the CSE HTML Validator.  This program shows you any errors that you have made in your coding, and shows you where the errors are, and helps you to fix it.  They have a lite version that is free, and a professional version which is $129.00 US.  (I have the free lite version, and am very happy with it.)  The link for their site is in the table below.
